For spectators, it can be a source of joy and distraction from daily activities. For neighborhoods and cities, the location where the sporting event does or does not occur, can have positive and adverse urban and economic impact.

Panelists include Robert D. Cruz, PhD, Chief Economist, Miami-Dade County; sports writer and author Howard Kleinberg; and Erik Fresen, Civica Architecture. Moderated by Hernan Guerrero, Assoc AIA, LEED GA, MCAD Operations Manager.

Sports writer, author and Miami native Howard Kleinberg will trace the history and controversy behind the rise and fall of various stadiums in Miami, from the first in 1914 to the Miami Stadium, Orange Bowl and Miami Marine Stadium to the Miami Arena, American Airlines Arena and Marlins Park.
