Brazil ArtFair Comes to Miami
First Fair Dedicated to Brazilian Contemporary Art and Design
Debuts During Art Week December 4-8, 2013
3501 NE Midtown Boulevard and 36th Street, Miami

Housed in a 25,000 square foot exposition center, on Midtown Boulevard, near the Wynwood Art District, Brazil ArtFair will present work from 15 Brazilian art galleries, over 100 artists, an exhibition of work by Brazilian artists curated by Luisa Duarte, and Orchestra Brasil, a selection of innovative contemporary’s leading design studios.

"Our mission for the first edition is to present art and design that reflects contemporary Brazil," said Brazil ArtFair director, Michel Serebrinsky. "From the selection of galleries and the art that they will exhibit to Luisa Duarte’s curated exhibition to the design of our space, we created Brazil ArtFair with the purpose of bringing to Miami not just a new art fair experience but also a new experience of Brazil."

The Centro Cultural Brasil-USA da Florida (Brazil-USA Cultural Center of Florida/CCBU) celebrates the centenary of the poet and beloved Brazilian music composer, Vinicius de Morais.

Vinicius is the author of "Girl from Ipanema" one of the most recorded songs in history - among many other gems of Brazilian music. We look forward to celebrating the work and life of Vinicisus de Morais, a Brazilian cultural icon.

Vinicius de Moraes, author of 400 poems and 400 lyrics returns in a film directed by Miguel Faria Jr. and produced by Susana de Moraes. To celebrate the life and work of the multifaceted creator "theater author, poet, partner of the most important names of popular Brazilian music, and, above all, a very important player of Brazil's cultural history" director Miguel Faria Jr. reunited an incomparable team. Miguel Faria Jr.'s partners, interpreters, friends opened up their rare archive images that bring to life the amazing simplicity of Vinicius as well as the spontaneity, humor and freedom of someone who is as comfortable chatting at a bar as he is immortalizing love and life in poetry.

The Brazil-USA Cultural Center (CCBU), along with artist Silvana Soriano, are continue to offering a series of workshops for children focused on the art and culture of the 2014 FIFA World Cup host cities. The program intends to develop a variety of creative experiences in art and at the same time promote and enrich knowledge about Brazilian culture and language. During workshops, students will have the opportunity to create art projects based on the artistic production of each region and learn various artistic procedures such as drawing, printmaking, painting, sculpture and installation.

Objective: To know the artistic production of Brazilian sculptors
Based on the work of sculptors Eduardo Frota and Sérvulo Esmeraldo, students will create sculptures using cardboard boxes, straw and other materials.
