Bethe Lee Moulton

until brazil

Bethe Lee Moulton is an international consultant whose novel, Until Brazil, pays homage to Brazil and Brazilians.

She will join us to share her perspectives on Brazil, as well as the challenges and opportunities of self-publishing.

UNTIL BRAZIL:  A woman MBA, a troubled Brazilian company, and a fledgling consulting team far from Boston headquarters inhabit this novel of cultural contrasts, business intrigue, and personal transformation.

Good Book Alerts: An interesting and enjoyable read The themes are skillfully worked in, and the description vividly describes Brazil. As you read, you learn about the culture, which is fun. The story is believable because it's based on a true story. The characterization is very good. It sends good messages "Get out of your box and live." And "Don't let others run your life."

The COPA CULTURAL tour continues in

at the Key Biscayne Library
299 Crandon Boulevard, Key Biscayne, FL 33149

Curitiba, the capital of the State of Paraná, is a world reference in urban planning and creative programs. Its dwellers, its environment and its urban area coexist in a harmonious, organized form. Due to this harmonious co-existence, the functioning of the city itself has become a tourist attraction.

Enjoy a family program at the Key Biscayne Library! Find out how successful recycling and environmental programs like "Lixo que não é Lixo" (literally, "Garbage that isn’t Garbage"), e "Câmbio Verde" ("Green Exchange") have become world paradigms of care for the environment.

Join us for a "Roda de histórias" (best for children 6 to 8 years old), an interactive story reading circle in Portuguese that is lots of fun!

We will end the program joining artist and educator SILVANA SORIANO at the workshop "Let’s Make and Recycle Papers". We all know that recycling paper is one way to be environment friendly. However many people don’t know that is easy and fun to make your own handmade pa,per. This workshop will invite children to create handmade papers with different natural materials. At the end of the session each paper will become "leaves" and be set up in a tree.

With the exception of Roda de Histórias, the program will be presented in English.

1–1:15pm Typical Brazilian Refreshments.
1:15–1:45pm (in Portuguese). Reading interactive story circle.
1:30-1:45 pm Presentation of Curitiba
1:45-3pm "Let’s Make and Recycle Papers" Workshop with artist and educator Silvana Soriano. Silvana Soriano was born in Rio de Janeiro and is a Key Biscayne resident. She has a degree in Art Education from Bennett University. Her teaching experience includes universities, public s chools and private workshops. Silvana has been an exhibiting artist and printmaker for over 20 years. Her work has been exhibited in many solo and group exhibitions in Brazil, Spain, France, USA and Cuba.
