BELO HORIZONTE was the kick-off city of the COPA CULTURAL on Saturday, January 14 at the West Dade Regional.

Adults, children from all backgrounds came to learn about the third biggest city in Brazil and the capital of the State of Minas Gerais.

Adriana Sabino, President of CCBU, talked about how Belo Horizonte and its position in Brazil as a focus of innovation, arts, music and fashion.

The lively multicultural audience was introduced to different aspects of Belo Horizonte’s diverse culture through performances, screenings and talks. The varied program included the screening of a video from the Belo Horizonte Conventions and Visitors Bureau, a film of GRUPO CORPO’s stunning performance of NAZARETH, and the excellent short “GALINHA AO MOLHO PARDO” based on the work of renowned writer born and raised in Belo Horizonte, FERNANDO SABINO.

One of the highlights of the program was COACH ALEX’s engaging talk about Futebol (soccer), the jogo bonito "beautiful game."

The program ended with lively games and demonstrations of soccer on the library’s lawn.

Saiu o Edital da III Edição do Concurso de Desenho Infantil “Brasileirinhos no Mundo” para crianças brasileiras entre 6 e 11 anos de idade residentes no exterior. Com o tema "Meu capítulo favorito da História do Brasil”, o concurso visa a promover e conservar vínculos culturais e de identidade das novas gerações de brasileiros no exterior com seu país de origem. As inscrições serão realizadas entre fevereiro e maio de 2012. Os dez melhores desenhos, escolhidos por Comissão Julgadora, receberão o “Prêmio Itamaraty de Desenho Infantil Brasileirinhos no Mundo".
