Centro Cultural Brasil USA & Coral Gables Museum
received the
Brazilian International Press Award Board of Directors Special Awards
for the exhibition
12 Cities 12 Stadiums: Brazil 2014, World Soccer Destination.

In the summer of 2014, in celebration of the World Cup in Brazil, the Coral Gables Museum in conjunction with the Centro Cultural Brasil-USA, presented the the exhibition "12 Stadiums 12 Cities: Brazil 2014 World Soccer Destination." The exhibition detailed the twelve cities and stadiums that hosted the games and represented Brazil in the eyes of the world during the World Cup.

The exhibition was divided into three sections: Cities, Stadiums and Urban Soccer Culture. The cities were represented by extraordinary photos by native artistic photographers. The stunning new stadiums were showcased with photos, architectural drawings and models. The exhibition that was on display at the beautiful Fewell Gallery from June 5 to September 14, also included video, interactive kosks and objects that depict the soccer club fans' culture. Lectures by architects who designed the stadiums and by renowned anthropologist Roberto DaMatta, family workshops, film, and two game watching events at the outdoor museum plaza, exposed the public to different aspects of Brazilian culture.
