Miami Book Fair International 2011 is honored to feature Brazilian authors Martha Medeiros and Dr. Ricardo Cravo Albin as presenters at this year's Fair.

The Miami Book Fair International (November 13-20) has evolved into an extraordinary, annual weeklong event offering the best in American and world literature, hailed by Publisher's Weekly, the American Booksellers Association and the New York Times as the premier literary event in America. Over 3,500 authors have appeared at Miami Book Fair International over the past 25 years. Bestsellers, cult favorites, household names and an extraordinary range of Nobel Prize, Pulitzer Prize, National Book Award, American Book Award, Pen/Faulkner and Premio Miguel de Cervantes winners.

Miami Book Fair International 2011 will host Martha Medeiros. We are honored to feature Ms. Medeiros and Dr. Ricardo Cravo Albin as presenters at this year's Fair.

They will present in our prestigious Festival of Authors program. They will each give a 20-25 minute presentation, followed by audience Q&A and a book signing.

"Taste of Brazil" - Branding Brazil through cuisine, music, and culture comes to the InterContinental Hotel from Friday, November 18 to Sunday, November 20. The event will allow patrons to explore the major regions of Brazil through food and entertainment. The Menu includes Bahia dishes “Shrimp Bobo” with palm oil and Chicken Xinxim, Amazonian fish of the regional basins, and of course, Brazil’s national dish: Feijoada Carioca. All meals will be overseen by head-chef Deborah Rosalem. Besides the variety of typical Brazilian dishes at the event, patrons will be able to enjoy live music , as well as other forms of entertainment.

de Ricardo Cravo Albin

Ricardo Cravo Albin (Salvador, 20 de dezembro de 1940) é um musicólogo e autor brasileiro, sendo considerado um dos maiores pesquisadores da Música Popular Brasileira.

Cravo Albin fundou e dirigiu o Museu da Imagem e do Som (MIS) entre 1965 e 1971.

Historiador de MPB, produtor musical, produtor de rádio e televisão, crítico e comentarista, Albin foi ainda diretor geral da Embrafilme e presidente do Instituto Nacional de Cinema (INC). É também autor, desde 1973, de aproximadamente 2500 programas radiofônicos para a Rádio MEC.

Ricardo Cravo Albim apresentará na Feira Internacional do Livro de Miami o seu mais recente livro: Vinicius de Moraes, uma celebração de um dos maiores poetas em língua portuguesa, diplomata de carreira e um dos mais importantes compositores brasileiros. O livro representa um reconhecimento a sua enorme contribuição à divulgação da imagem do Brasil no exterior.

A apresentação dos dois escritores brasileiros na MBFI foi coordenada pelo Centro Cultural Brasil-USA da Flórida.
