WELCOMING LUNCH FOR THE
NEW CONSUL GENERAL OF BRAZIL IN MIAMI
CCBU members and friends warmly welcomed the new Consul General of Brazil in Miami, Ambassador Hélio Vitor Ramos Filho at a lunch, on Thursday September 15 at Fogo de Chão Restaurant.

The Consul General is also the Centro Cultural Brasil-USA da Florida's Honorary President.

Ambassador Hélio Vitor Ramos Filho is a career diplomat with an extensive experience in environmental and energy matters. He comes to Miami after serving six years in Brasilia. He is married and father of two daughters and a son. Click to see event page.lunch photos

Meet and Greet Cocktail and Dinner in honor of
Brazilian Maestro João Carlos Martins
The acclaimed Brazilian classical pianist and conductor, João Carlos Martins was honored on Thursday, September 15, at a dinner organized by the Centro Cultural Brasil-USA da Flórida (CCBU).

Several members and friends gathered at Zucchero Restaurant, in Miami, to meet and greet the charismatic maestro. Maestro João Carlos Martins greeted the group and spoke about his career and the program he was going to present the next evening at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts and in the weekend, at the Carnegie Hall.

João Carlos Martins has performed with leading orchestras in the United States, Europe and Brazil and is celebrated as one of the greatest interpreters of the music of Bach. After his career as a concert pianist was derailed by injuries and accidents, he successfully began a new career as a conductor, leading hundreds of performances worldwide including acclaimed concerts at Carnegie Hall. He is the conductor at the English Chamber Orchestra and the Bachiana Filarmonica Orchestra. O Conselho do CCBU recomendou procurar entre os associados, o novo membro que deverá preencher uma vaga aberta no Conselho e participar diretamente de tudo o que o Brasil tem de melhor para oferecer no Sul da Flórida: música, literatura, cinema, culinária, teatro, dança.

Estamos buscando um parceiro dedicado que venha a enriquecer ainda mais o nosso Conselho, com seu talento, com sua paixão e criatividade. Este novo membro poderá contribuir, como voluntário, na administração do CCBU, no planejamento e execução de eventos ou ainda criando novas iniciativas.

Os interessados devem enviar, por email, até o dia 2 de novembro, um curto currículo / biografia e um parágrafo indicando os motivos pelos quais tem interesse em participar do Conselho e como a sua participação ajudaria a enriquecer o processo de divulgação e promoção da cultura brasileira no Sul da Flórida.
